Abstract

PURPOSE:

To review all paediatric ankle syndesmotic injuries occurring at our institution and identify risk factors associated with operative intervention.

CONCLUSIONS:

Operative ankle syndesmotic injuries in the paediatric population are often associated with a closed distal tibial physis and concomitant fibular fracture.

Resumen

PROPÓSITO:
Revisar todas las lesiones sindesmóticas de tobillo pediátrico ocurridas en nuestra institución e identificar los factores de riesgo asociados con la intervención quirúrgica.

 
CONCLUSIONES:
Las lesiones sindesmóticas del tobillo operativas en la población pediátrica se asocian a menudo con una physis distal tibial cerrada y una fractura concomitante del fibular.
